Happy Nurses Week 2018
Happy Nurses Week 2018!!!!
It’s here guys! To all of my fellow nurses and soon to be nurses! Enjoy the week!!! Nurses week is a highlight of my year. Yes, it can be filled with sometimes cheesy work ice cream socials, cheap lanyards, and blanket emails from nursing administration, but it is at least one time in the year that most of us hear thank you.
All of the celebration tions aside, I honestly believe that during nurses week, people take the time to reflect on how a nurse, or nurses in general, have impacted their lives, especially in a good way. Nurses virtually touch every branch of healthcare and we are present at the beginning and end of most people’s lifes. Nursing, at its roots, has always been in existence and is founded in caring for others, no matter how cliché that sounds. It’s true. Humans, and other mammals for that matter, love feeling cared for and we thrive when we are well cared for. So, we love care, nurses provide care, and thus this is the reason why many people the world over especially love nurses.
So, this year, my personal theme for nurses week will be “A walk down memory lane”. Everyday, this week, I will feature posts that highlight an aspect of the the past that influenced my present nursing career. I hope you will join me on this journey and that it inspires you to go on your on or share your currently journey!
Again, happy first day of nurses week, and as always, happy nursing!
